The Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance of the offices of City Hall, the Lebanon Police Department, Center Square (old Lebanon Middle School) property, entrance signs to Lebanon and the Civil War Park. The dept. is also responsible for 54 miles of City streets, curbs, gutters and sidewalks. The City's storm drainage system is also maintained by the Public Works Department as well as salting of the winter streets.

Repaving of City streets schedule is presented each year to the City Council for approval during budget preparation.

Storm debris is picked up on an as-needed basis. You may contact City Hall for assistance and a request for service form will be forwarded to the Public Works Department.

Sewer Department

Eddie Masterson, Wastewater Superintendent
Phone:  270-692-6202

Permits are required for new construction and can be obtained through City Hall. Sewers and/or connections of sewer laterals to the City's sewer system must be obtained by contacting the Building Inspector at City Hall.

Services provided by the City Sewer Department are sewer taps, removing blockages from sewer mains and laterals using a high-pressure water machine. City also has a sewer line video camera for inspection of mains.

The "Jordan" storm drainage is fed by a spring located near what is now TG Kentucky Corporation located on East Main Street. It was an open drainage and water supply for the early settlers to Lebanon. Over time it acted more as a drainage system (sewer) than a water supply and was slowly built over. Currently over one-half of this drainage is enclosed.

City and County Ordinances
Every city and county operates under a set of rules and regulations called ordinances. For the most part, residents do not become involved with most of these ordinances, the bulk of which apply only to City residents. Questions regarding county ordinances should be referred to the County Clerk's Office (270-692-2651) and questions regarding City ordinances should be referred to the City Clerk's Office (270-692-6272).
